I tried it both ways and it doesn't change anything, only the title in the first
post. I inserted "Sold" in two boxes of an old thread just for trying this, even though one box was for the reason.
Here's the thread...

Yep..you changed it. But what that means is you can as a Mod, but we can't,
which was the original need to insert "sold' or change an original title by a
regular member without calling for terry.

Could you please give it another try in the way Terry wrote to me (see post #10)?

I already tried to return it near original, also erased both "sold**"
and entered it in both boxes. No go.
It now says....Myths and Misconceptions**, but only in first post.

Thanks for trying!
Gave it back it's original title followed by *.
I'll ask one of the IT experts and keep you updated.

This is exactly how I've been trying to edit the thread titles. It doesn't work for me. I can understand how a mod can edit most things, but as a standard user, I can't seem to find a way to do it.
The really strange thing is that people are somehow doing it in the classified section rather routinely, even people with very low post counts.
Maybe it's worth asking a few of them how they do it? I'll keep checking here, but I may PM a few people over the weekend to inquire.

René;
You may have to change this thread title if we can't
solve it....
I tried page 10 and only managed to change the first post,
but not the title, which is what we're after. .

The way they do it is to get a hold of a Mod. That's
the only way as of now, but it would be handy if you
could do it yourself.
