I can't figure out how, but others are somehow able to do it. If you visit the classifieds section and read the first few pages of stuff for sale, you'll see several threads that have been updated to have "**SOLD**" before the rest of the text in the title.
Maybe it's just a classifieds thing?

what makes you think others are changing the title in the Dyna Classifieds.

Thanks Mud, I assumed the thread starters were somehow able to do it, but it did seem sort of random. It makes sense now. I suppose they either contact a mod to get it updated, or that you periodically scan the threads and update them accordingly.

I agree. This is specific to the classified section only... but how hard would it be to add a radio button to the advanced thread edit tool that simply inserted "**SOLD**" at the beginning of the thread title? This insertion could then be updated by users, and the script written would insert the text. I can certainly understand the need to keep people from changing the thread titles, but it would be nice to have a way to see if an item is sold without reading each thread. It could also be used for search filtering, etc. Just an idea if someone has spare time and enjoys programming.
My question is: How do you update the thread title after the thread has been started? I searched the forum, but didn't' see an answer. I've visited my userCP to see if there was an option to update the titles of threads I've started, but didn't see anything there.
Specific Example:
A thread is posted in the classifieds titled 'Chrome footpegs and brake lever'. Days later, once the item has been sold, the title is changed to '***SOLD*** Chrome footpegs and brake lever'. How is this done?
Thanks
