Exclamation Streetglide Specials !

If anyone with a new Rushmore Streetglide Special, and you are considering up-grading your shocks, know this! Your shocks are not the same length from side to side! I'm working on this Right Now!! In case you care.

I thought this was the case too when I was installing the 13" Premium Hand Adjustable shocks on my Ultra. When I did the install I had to remove the left side muffler hanger bolts so I could have clearance to the lower shock mounting bolt. I did not do this to the right side. When I went to install the right side shock it appeared the shock was a bit too long. When I removed the hanger bolts, it allowed the swingarm to move more freely.

Could this be the case with your situation?

No. I have the 2 shocks off the bike. While they were laying on the bench, I noticed 1 was longer than the other! About 5/16" difference! My new shocks are the same length. I've had a lot of shocks off for various reasons in the past, but on the 09 & newer, it's always been air shocks. This is the first one with springs.
