Default Discovered something new

I recently installed 1997 FLHT tubes, sliders, wheel, and brake components on my 1978 FXS. I used the '97 caliper and rotor. This of course uses a banjo brake line fitting. The original does not. So I could not use my brake hose. Luck would have that I had a near new banjo style brake line that a friend had given me last year. Only problem is that my original master cylinder does not use a banjo either. Well crap! I search all over the net for some kind of adapter. Nothing I could find without ending up looking like I robbed a harware store. So, out of frustration, I removed the old brake line and adapter from the master cylinder. Well, a banjo bolt threaded right in by hand, but it was too long. Found a super thick machined stainless steel washer and opened up the hole till the banjo bolt just fit. Added a third sealing washer and it all went together with no leaks. I can't believe I got so lucky. After I got all this hooked up and bled, I found that JP Cycles sells a short banjo bolt. I could have saved the trouble of adding the washer, but what the heck. It's all together and working. I won't forget though, next time I get into something like this. Even if you don't think something will work, you never know till you try!
