Recently, when applying the back brake going down my carpark ramp I am getting a moaning type noise from the brakes. When using the brakes normally I don't hear it, but it is coming up periodically when I apply back brake only. I just had the bike serviced so I assume it's not the brake pads.
What could it be?.
Spray some brake cleaner between the pads and the disc rotor, probably have some road crud in there. The go out and stomp on the rear brake a few times to finish cleaning off the rotor.

Do you recommend any particular brands of brake cleaner? We might have what you recommend here in Australia....

Something like below. Does not have to be a specific brand. Get at auto parts store. Or Amazon. If not available, used isopropol alcohol to squirt between the pads and rotor.

Thanks. I had a look at the supercheap auto website and they have a CRC brake and parts cleaner spray can - it should do the job. I also have isopropyl alcohol but I Will try the brake and parts cleaner first.
All the service dept did was check for wear, that is just a visual inspection to determine if the brake pads have enough meat left on the to make it safely to the next scheduled service.
Make sure the fasteners for the caliper are tight.
The sound is probably the pads vibrating, the same thing that causes a break squeal.
Cleaning the components as suggested might do the trick.
