Default Head Bearing Adjustment Tool ???

I just did my 1k service on my 08 wideglide and ran into a bit of a snag while doing the head bearing fall away test. I made sure jack was level and disconnected the clutch cable so as not to cause any pull to one side. Could not get the wheel to center, would always fall much easier to one side. No problem, I've got the shop manual, I'll just bring it within specs. Here's the problem. Top stem nut which has to be loosened and torqued 70-80 lbs is 1 1/2" however, 1 1/2" socket won't fit on nut under handlebars. Thought about picking up a crowsfoot attachment for my torque wrench but Craftsman doesn't even make one that big. I guess I could track down a Snap On Tool guy, they may have one. Wanted to ask what you guys are using? Any HD techs out there, what do you use at the shop?

Don't use a Crows Foot... Use a Torque Adapter (Dog Bone), it is essentially a box end wrench, and it fits much better....

As far as the fall away being off center, that is normal, it is the measurement of the points that it falls away that is important to measure...

Thanks for the info. Never heard of a torque adapter but I will look into it. Also I appreciate the info on the "center issue". The way you wrote it makes perfect sense now.
