Default Clutch adjustment....got a quick question.

What do you guys use to make your clutch adjustment at the primary?

It doesn't seem likely that you can get a regular wrench at the locking nut with out stripping the crap out of it. Nobody likes stripped nuts so is there a specific tool or any little tricks that you guys and gals can share?

I tried a regular open ended wrench but no dice. I guess one of those new goofy craftsman "dog bone" wrenches might work because the opening will allow easy access to the adjustment screw but I figured I'd ask the experts.

Thanks,
Tony

I welded a nut on a deep socket so I could hold the allen wrench thru the center of the socket and turn the welded on nut with a wrench

Yep, I bought a craftsman dog bone wrench. I've also seen some ratchet sets that allow a bolt to pass through the center.

They make a open socket set sold at sears or the ratchet wrench set with flex head that would be perfect for that but i would have no other use for it so i just use a open end wrench with no problem slipping or stripping. I like the dog bone idea and now i have a use for one. Always look at them just wondered what the hell i would use it for. Now i know.

sweet, keep'em coming....thanks guys.

What size is it. I don't want to crack the cover with out a new seal to check. LOL

I guess it will have to wait till the next time I change the primary fluid. I wanted to check the clutch while I was in there yesterday but I am not gonna get another gasket unless I have issues.

again-thanks guys.

Can get a Lockit Socket like attached or simply take a long 11/16 socket and grind two flats on it so a box wrench fits (this is what I did) if you don't weld.
