Default Softail alignment and tire wear.

I have an 07 custom and went through the usual bs of trying to make it hands off riding. I can only get it to a certain level with rear wheel adjustment until belt tracking becomes a problem.
The front wheel is offset about 5/16 to the right for some strange reason, and no it's not because the right side of the bike is heavier. In fact the left side is, especially with aftermarket pipes and the wheel factory shifted to the right. Letting go of the bars it will drift to the left most times. When riding, and this is most noticable with a wind vest windshield the top of the windshield shows the bike leaning slightly to the right while travelling straigh down the road. The right lean is needed to counteract the left side heaviness of the primary. I have now detected the right side of the front tire wearing more than the left because of how the bike spends most of it's time down the road. Clearly this factory offset of the front wheel is just plain wrong. Has anyone made the effort to do some machining on the left lower for the fender and calliper and shimmed the wheel to bring things into center. I can't believe that I'm the only one on this planet that has found this flaw in design and been tempted to rectify it.

Cool Front tire wear

Ron I have the same issue and have been dealing with Harley since I rolled it off the floor with no success. They always come up with some lame excuse. Have you came up with anything?

Default Softail tire wear

I have a 2000 Heritage that wears the front and rear tires to the right. Believe it is a balance problem, primary side is heavier. Hard to believe they are made that way. Dont think there is a fix. Would love to know if there is!!!
