Default Works DRS Fork Springs

Just installed Works DRS Fork Springs on my '08 RKC -- went with the standard length. I had already put 13" (standard length) Works DRS Street Trackers on the back. Be forewarned -- the preload spacer provided with the springs will not work -- its too large. The preload spacer sent with my kit was 1" PVC -- even with some gentle persuasion, it would not go into the forks. I tried to polish some off to make it a little smaller, but it still would not go. I finally ended up going with a piece of 3/4" sch 80 PVC with a flat washer on top. That worked great. I set my preload at 2.5" -- the spacer provided with the kit was 2.750", which was about a 1/4" longer than the stock springs (mine at least) preload -- my springs have about 6k miles on them, so they could have settled .250" I suppose. In any event after putting in the 2.500" preload, I have exactly one inch of sag. I stuck with the stock HD fork oil and filled it 5.25" from the top with the forks fully compressed. I also used the medium length cross over. I am very pleased with the set up. I have 12" Works Street Trackers on my V-Rod with Progressive standard length springs in the front with HD SE fork oil -- those forks and rear shocks are stiffer than the 13" Street trackers and Works DRS fork springs on my Road King, but that's how it should be......

Anyways, just sharing some of my learning experiences.......

Take care. cw
