I just finished installing the lowering kit from Harley Lowering Kits .com on my '91 soft tail.
It was a piece of cake! It makes the scooter look good and lowering it in the back around two inches actually improved handling a lot.
Now if anyone can jump in and enlighten me on shock pre load.....the shocks were not preloaded at all from the factory. That was pretty obvious on inspection after dis assembly.
I'd like to stiffen it a little....From what I read, it seems all one does is loosen the jam nut, and turn the plate with the "fork tool"...tighten the jam nut, then do the same thing on the other shock and try it out. doing it all again, if more stiffening is still needed.
Someone tell me if I'm right or wrong????????? Thanks.
