Default Pay it Forward

Friday evening, I removed my rear wheel and took it to my local HD shop to get my new Metzler ME880 installed and balanced. When I have removed the rear wheel the bearings looked worn so I ask the service manager to inspect and advise. When he called be Saturday, he said that the bearings should be replaced. The problem was that they did not have the bearings in stock and could not find them at any dealers in the area, and Special Order would take a week. Luckly, one of the mechanics had a set that he was going to install on his bike and volunteered to let me have his and when mine come in I will replace his. How cool is that! After I picked up the wheel with the new tire and bearings, I returned to the shop and dropped off a 12 pack. Thanks Levi

It's always good to hear positive stories like this. I work at a HD dealer in parts and always try to help out some of the decent customers.

Default RE: Pay it Forward

Every Time I have something major completed on the bike, I do something personal for my mechanic. Usually beer, everyonce in a while a gift Cert to an eatery. At this point he is the onlyone working on it. At Christmas I give him even more... Since I do not have the patients to do the quality work that I want done it is a small price to pay. Therefore I have a great relationship with my shop.
