Default Fuel Moto Jackpot review

I have a 2010 Road Glide and I purchased a full stage 1 kit from Fuel Moto and this is my review of the products. I called them and spoke to Jamie and I purchased a Power Commander V, Fuel Moto Stage 1 air kit, and a Jackpot Power tube slip on the total cost was $629.00 shipped, I ordered on a Friday and received the package on the next Wednesday. They also emailed me a tracking number.

I had the package shipped to work and took it home over lunch break to install. The complete disassembly of the stock parts to the aftermarket took only 1 hour and is pretty straight forward. During the installation of the intake I did have a question, and I called Fuel Moto and spoke with a guy that answered my question promptly and with a friendly demeanor.

During the air intake install you will need some blue thread locker, which isn’t supplied but most decent backyard mechanics have some laying around and so did I so it was no big deal. I was delighted to see that the PC-V is a direct plug n play affair. I have had PCIII’s on other bikes that required splicing wires etc. Install of the PC-V was about 5 minutes. The trickiest part of the install was taking off the throttle body support on the intake I used a 90 degree allen wrenches so I didn’t have to take of the tank but you can only turn them ˝ a turn so a good quarter of the install was just unscrewing that piece.

After I pulled off the stock exhaust, I tried to look through it, and even held to the sun you can’t see day light out of the other end, now that is a restrictive baffle. You can see straight through the Power Tube. The fit and finish of the slip on is top notch and there is a screw on the bottom to change the baffle, I assume the competition baffle they have will be much louder.

The sound out of the Power Tube is a much deeper rumble than the stock “moped-sewing machine” sound. The sound for me is perfect, it’s not very loud but is much deeper, and when on the interstate I don’t hear the exhaust at all, just the wind and stereo. Around town you can hear the exhaust much more, and especially in stop and go traffic, and it will get moderately loud in the 4-5k RMP range. I think this is the perfect sound level for a touring bike.

With the kit installed the bike just seems to “run” better, I don’t know how to really put it in words but the bike just seems happier and just generally runs better, how’s that for a scientific analogy? If you are expecting arm stretching improvements in power, you will be thoroughly disappointed. For me there was an increase in power but it is subtitle according to my “butt dyno”. It accelerates a wee bit faster when getting on it hard, but the biggest deference for me is that 6th gear becomes more functional. I’m a big guy and we have lots of hills around here, and the extremely tall 6th gear was horrible when using cruise control. Since the Stage 1 I can use cruse in 6th just fine even up the biggest of hills.
One of the biggest benefits of the upgrade is the heat, or lack thereof. I would say in stop and go traffic my legs feel at least 20-30 degrees cooler! On the highway or riding without stops I feel no heat at all, that’s even in a 95 degree day. Keep in mind this bike still has the catalytic converter in the head pipe too.

My only complaint is that the air cleaner now hits my leg. I kept the stock football cover on because I like the way it looks. I believe any intake you add that uses the K&N filter it will stick out more. After a couple hundred miles I got used to it, but it did drive me nuts for the first day or so. Before the stage 1 I never noticed the air intake was there.

If I had to do it all over again, I would make this purchase in a heartbeat! Great product at a great price a full stage one kit for the price of some other brands slip-ons. After hearing the exhaust a buddy at work bought a stage 1 Kit from Fuel Moto 2 days later for his Ultra Classic.

I'll +1 that notion. I've been dealing with them for four years now and my enthusiasm only grows by the year.

I just wish they had a "quiet" baffle option for the 2/1 powertube muffler. That muffler with the jackpot header is too loud of a combination for me.

installed my fuelmoto tuner and 4" slash up jackpot slipons. install was very easy and took about an hour only because i was cleaning everything. the 4" slashups look excellent and the fitment was flawless.

i fired up the hog and was met with a deep rumble that my stock bike lacked. i was liking what i was hearing. i cracked the throttle and the bike let me know it wasnt stock anymore. very responsive.

will update more once i give it a good run. temps are in the 20s and i dont wanna freeze my ace off.

Hats off to the folks at Fuel Moto. well done.

Get a set of HarleyGoodies floorboard extenders to fix the "leg hitting the a/c" problem. Worked awesome for mine...
