Nice presentation. I guess I'm one of the "Old Guys"..!! I Bought my 1985 FXRS new in 1985. I haven't found another Harley I would rather have so I've just kept it. If I had to buy replacement it would be one of the FXR2 or 3 series. It's hard to believe the Motor company stopped making FXR's over the issues of 2 hours extra labor to hand weld the frame..??!! Hell, I'd happily pay the extra two hours of hand welding time to get one of those, if I had to replace mine.
I love FXR's too. But it's really not the production but the old timers lack of acceptance. I was in my 40's when they came out, took one for a ride was hooked, much to the chagrin of my friends. Then when the 1% clubs gave them credibility, they become popular. I bought one in 92', had to sell it, and then resurrected this 92' RP in 2017.

Nice video but she doesn't know the real story and continues to spread the wrong information.
Harley wanted to get in on the custom bike market and everyone was using the FXR platform - most notably, Arlen Ness. They didn't have any frames laying around but they still had the jigs and used those to build frames for the FXR2/3/4. There was no longer an assembly line so they had 2-man teams that could build 2 bikes a day each (not sure how many teams). Eric Buell was a designer but not THE sole designer.
I don't care.
Even at todays prices, if HD brought out an FXR, I'd buy it.
I would too. I'd bite the bullet for that !!
Imagine it. No weird bobbed fenders or mini fairings.
Plain Jane. ALL Perf.
Maybe an RT version ?

One thing I don't get is her (and others) aversion to use the choke (enricher) - she'd rather wack the throttle repeatedly on a ice cold motor then let it fast idle as it was designed to?
