This actually isn't true, I've done lots of dyno testing with them. The open end cap is worth about 10 discs, so you will probably end up around 6-8 discs with an open end cap. Set up that way, it certainly isn't a quiet pipe, they really bark when you get after it. Unfortunately, I don't think a stainless one would look good on your bike. They really turn gold in short order. I have one on my '88 anniversary edition (gold and black paint and wheels) and there it looks great. But with red, probably not; unless you can find an older chrome one...

So you’re saying open end cap gives the same low end torque as using discs alone? Interesting, but not my experience with them on my previous Dyna’s (also dyno verified)

I’ve run supertrapp on three harleys with varying levels of performance mods. All dyno tuned and best torque and hp was always with the open end cap and lots of discs. My tuner says this is pretty much always the case too
