Garmin Nuvi 760 reversing a route
On a trip to Laconia last year I spent a lot of time programming a route. I then reversed it to get home. On the way up it worked flawlessly. On the way back it became a nightmare in the first 20 miles and I quickly purchased a map at a local store. The first interstate I came to the GPS had me get on in the opposite direction that I wanted to go. I went up one exit and immediately got back on the direction I wanted to go. It then had me go to the next exit, turn around again and travel back to where I got on the highway to begin with.
When I programmed the original route some of my way points were located on the "On ramp" or the "Off ramp" at places I wanted to get on or off a particular road or the waypoint was on one side of a split lane highway. When I reversed the route the GPS wanted to take me to the same "Off ramp" or "On ramp" or side of the highway that was programmed.
You see how this can be a problem?
Be sure your way points are at particular locations and NOT on specific points on the road.
By the way we had more fun stopping and checking the map from time to time as opposed to just following the GPS.
Hope this helps
