Interesting how, if I have my smaller factory Road Glide small black windshield on, I don't have any problems, but if I put on my 12", I get ear pain after a while and a headache. I was also thinking of ear plugs, so I tried the foam ones you squeeze in. They didn't solve my problem. Any ideas?
The top of the windsheild should come right about as high as where your nose is. If you can replace the plastic shield within the metal frame, replace it with a better quality curved shield. My Klock Werks did wonders. The stock shield created so much buffeting that I couldn't even keep my sunglasses on. It was so bad that I couldn't ride with the windshield on.
For me, ear plugs don't stay in unless I'm wearing a 3/4 helmet. On short trips, my Klock Werks creates a quiet bubble to ride in and on longer trips I wear plugs. The only thing I don't like about plugs is that it's so quiet I can actually hear myself thinking......and I don't like some of my thoughts.

As a recording studio owner / engineer / producer, my ears are extremely important to me (as they obviously are to all of us) . . . . I developed tinnitus after years of wearing half helmets (I'm sure the studio added to it somewhat). I only wear 3/4 helmets now and always with plugs. I wish I could get the years back of wearing half helmets (some times with no plugs) . . . what a dumb*ss I was for doing that as tinnitus sucks.

ditto...put a Long Ride Shield on my Road Glide a while back and it reduced wind noise considerably. They are a sponsor on this site and offer a 20 percent discount to site members. They also offer tint in 3 different shades. Measure carefully and you will be good to go.
Damn this thread. I've never had any ear ringing until this thread made me notice it. Now I notice my ears ring from all the years riding bikes. Damn this thread. Damn this thread to hell!
