That DOT Sticker on helmets ?
The DOT sticker on the back of my ACC DOT extended half helmet-I'd like to remove it if possible but......
When riding through a state that requires DOT helmets is it necessary for an actual DOT sticker to be afixed to the exterior of your helmet ?
(I know you can a acquire a phony sticker and put it on any helmet) but what do the Police go by to determine if they need to pull someone over and look further ?
TheINSIDE of my ACC also has a 2nd label that also confirms it's a DOT helmet,so I can show a LEO that but am I asking to get pulled over in DOT helmet state if there's not a sticker visible on the outside of my helmet ?

I painted both helmets to match the bike, so the DOT sticker went away. had a WV Trooper inspect my helmet once at a PGR Mission.
We were standing by my bike talking and he noticed the missing sticker, once he saw the inside label he was cool with it.
Never just got pulled over for not having the sticker.

If he can spot that sum beach from the side of the road when I fly by, he can go ahead and pull me over.

Been pulled over recently several times and they never mentioned my obvious non DOT helmet here in So. Cal...
You are not responsible for maintaining a DOT sticker in good condition...
They would need a warrant to make you take it off. No helmet req. in Santa Cruz, Cal.
