I wear the Duluth Trading Company underwear that's wicking and has ball room.

Loose pants that allow the breeze to flow up your legs (or allow the breeze through) are a big, big plus). Shift occasionally to allow blood flow, and hydrate. A good seat.

You should be good.

Rooster, I'm getting off topic here but what bars do you have on you bike in your sig pic? What the rise and diameter? Thanks.

The factory Wide Glide seat is fine for me (6ft,1in) on all except long rides. For rides over 3 hours I throw on a Harley Road Zeppelin.

Forget about what seat you have. Forget powders.
Wear some form of Underarmor shorts or similar moisture wicking product and spend less than $100 bucks on Beadrider beads that you sit on.

Your results may vary. Past performance cannot predict future results.

To avoid the rash of Monkey Butt...do not fart. Seriously, that gas sets up a irritation if not quickly vented.

For your tired butt, strange, but after a couple days of riding, your butt gets toughened up, seriously. The more you ride, the longer you can go, so build up some saddle time before your longer trips.

I would think the best cure for monkey butt is to stop spanking.

I use my passenger pegs like a sportbike and lift my butt up off the seat and move around. It's tuff to move around on a cruiser because of the seating position orientation with feet and arms out in front. It's actually the most uncomfortable way to sit. Maybe at a traffic light, it looks cool, but it's the most uncomfortable position. All of your weight is on your butt.

The ergonomically correct position is that of a sport bike. Feet underneath you and slightly leaned forward. Cruiser people can't understand how sport bikes can be comfortable, but I could ride my Honda CBR1000RR for longer distances than anyone I knew on a Goldwing.

I don't ride with my feet on the passenger pegs the whole time, that would look stupid. But, it's a fine stretch from time to time to lift yourself up off the seat and move around to get the blood flowing.

Two different places to put your feet.

I have my mid-controls and my hi-way pegs. Works great. Keeping your feet in one position leads to cramping. Move your feet around a little bit every now and then.

I also found out that vinyl sucks swamp gas. Might last longer but so what?

I got a Danny Gray butt crack solo that doesn't look like much but I'll tell you what -- With the GEL foam they use, it makes the seating area firm.

You sit on it at first and go, "Too firm, I'll cramp up."

Nope. My buddies are always wanting to pull over while I'm ready to keep going.

It could also be the seating position of your bike. Some people are more comfortable on an FL frame and others (like me) are more comfortable on an FX frame.

The FL frame sits like you're on the toilet.... Or something. The Dyna lays you back more. But that's just me. Everybody's different.

Maybe it's the seats they put on the FLs?

Start with one thing first -- Foot positions.

If that works, great. If not, look at a different seat.

If none of it works, buy a trailer. Your friends who break down on the road will appreciate it

No real cure, time in the saddle does not work like exercise. After a while your butt seems to numb a little, I always moved around a lot, softer seats is not the cure either.
Monkey butt has a few more meanings doesn't need to be discussed.
