Monkey Butt....whats your cure?

Monkey Butt....whats your cure?
Laid down 710 miles in 12 hours today....prepping myself for a Iron Butt Saddlesore 1000. Only time I was off the saddle was for 5-10 minute gas stops, other than that, I was moving.
First 4-5 hours, I was good. Latter part of the day, I was squirming pretty good in my seat cause my butt was getting sore. I should have taken more and longer breaks but I going for time and duration.
For you long-haulers....what's some of your Monkey Butt cure secrets? Certain type of underwear? Padded shorts? Certain jeans?
My bike is a RGU with Mean City Cycles Super Narrow cut, which I like alot.
Thanks.

Last year around this time, we went 550 miles in 10 hours, in very cool weather and even got rained on. Neither one of us had any monkey butts. I really don't even know what it is.

The best thing to do is start with a contoured seat that spreads the weight of your body out as evenly as possible. Good hand & optional feet positions and a air hawk cushion can also make a big difference

Just so the jokes don't start coming your way,,
Are you talking about the rash or saddle soars?
The rash is about hygiene. It's actually a fungus much like Athlete's foot,, and related to the stuff that causes dandruff too.
If you got the rash it can be knocked down with a dandruff shampoo that contains 1% Selenium Sulfide like Selsun blue or the generic knock offs with the same chemical,, (Head an Shoulders won't work).
Saddle soars aka; chaffing is a different issue, the shampoo as above helps but chaffing has to do with the fit of your pants and the bikes seat.
A lot of folks will spend $300 and up for custom seats and it is worth while to get one that fit's,, but the clean scene (body and clothes) goes a long way to keeping things from getting bad.

Yeah, cute picture,, I've seen that stuff on the shelf too.
Talc helps if your going to be completely dry,, if it's hot and ya sweat,, the stuff cakes and add's to the problem.

I used to get it and I got rid of my stock vinyl seat and replaced it with a leather seat and that ended it for me and I can ride all day in hot weather and no issues. Some have even put covers on their stock seats and that seems to help also and is a cheaper way. For me, leather breathes and vinyl doesn't.

Loose jeans, go commando and Gold bond powder had been my stables for no swamp *** also a real sheepskin for the seat helps in a serious way for comfort and avoiding butt pimples.
