I didn't get what they say you may get on my comm II's, but I did get more than the stock dunlops. and now I'm on my second rear Michelin tire. I think sometimes we may get a tire that has been sitting on the shelf for a while and maybe they don't get the mileage it should.
There are many factors that affect tire wear. Some include the pressure at which you run the tires, the road surface conditions on which you ride, and the way you ride (e.g. aggressive v.s. not so aggressive). I've gotten much better mileage from Michelin Commander II tires than any Dunlop I've ever ridden. Better handling too. As they say, your mileage may vary.
I agree. I like the results that I am getting from an MC2 in the rear so when my front wears out, I'll be putting an MC2 there as well.
It's possible that I wasn't running enough air in my Commander II tires also, but I was not impressed by their life or preformance. Not only did I not get the milage advertised, but they handled like crap in the curves. Went back to Dunlop's and all is well again.

The Commander ll's were the best improvement I've made to my bike's handling.
Previously I had the stock Dunlops and the Metzeller 888's. No comparison, the Michelin's are better hands down.
Your tire pressures do need to be around 41-42 psi on a bagger.
