What method of payment are you using? I'm not getting charged any service fees, I send them a check every month. Call them and ask about the fee. One thing I find interesting is that they reduce my next payment when I pay more than the agreed monthly amount. I've put in enough extra so that now I get a statement with a zero payment due. I've never seen this before, even when I've paid ahead of the scheduled amount they still ask for the agreed payment each month
You need to state when you're making over payments to put it towards the principle of the loan. That way you are paying of the back side of the loan and reducing the interest being paid. If you don't tell them the overage is for the principle most places won't automatically do it because they loose the interest you would be paying on the loan.
I just started an acct with my employers own CU. So far... talking with them and the help they've provided has been awesome. She said the rates were very good even with some imperfections on credit but still comes down to the final approval. I'll be doing the loan process tomorrow with them to see if they can do anything and go from there. I've already made my mind up... if this doesn't provide a better light then I'll wait. Don't "need" a bike.... just a "want" at this point. I miss my Harley from years ago, got the fever!!
Just make sure you're not submitting apps everywhere, that will def not help your credit.
This is best advice. Every time someone pulls your credit report, your FICO credit scores will go down a few points. Those few points could cost you a better rate or even kill your deal.
My only input is to say to go with ***'s in Asheboro if you can find a bike that suits. They are the best bunch of folks I have dealt with. I live 60 miles away and there are at least 5 dealers that are closer, but I have never regretted buying from them. They take care of you and they have a good service department. If you can't make a deal with them on a bike you like then go to plan B.

depending on the type of loan. most loans these days are simple interest loans and interest charged is based solely on the outstanding balance.
i'm not saying not to tell this to the processor, but i am saying it is your responsibility to know what type of loan you are getting, and are there any pre-payment penalties, etc. before you sign your name on the dotted line.
I am paying online. The fee is $6 no matter what method I use, scheduled draft from my checking account, one time payment from my HD Credit Card, bank debit card or anything. I choose to go paperless so there is no immediate method to mail a check in. I'm definitely calling them on this.

Have you tried an online bill pay directly through your bank? No fee (unless your bank charges you one, and that would mean you need a new bank!).

there is something wrong then. i have my loan through eaglemark. they autopay my loan each month from my checking account, and it doesn't cost me a penny. i prefer doing it this way as opposed to the electronic method suggested by from_behind as it is immediate credit from eaglemark even though it might take a day or two to clear my bank. plus, if there is a server problem, etc. then at least i know i'm covered.
