there is something wrong then. i have my loan through eaglemark. they autopay my loan each month from my checking account, and it doesn't cost me a penny. i prefer doing it this way as opposed to the electronic method suggested by from_behind as it is immediate credit from eaglemark even though it might take a day or two to clear my bank. plus, if there is a server problem, etc. then at least i know i'm covered.
I just tried calling HDFS and was on hold and saw this in the FAQ's:
"PAYMENT CENTER
USING HDFS BILL PAY
HDFS Bill Pay is for use with Harley-DavidsonŽ Financial Services accounts only. You can make one-time payments or set up automatic/recurring payments. Processing fees are as follows:
No fee for all recurring HDFS Bill Pay payments
$6.00 fee for each "one-time" HDFS Bill Pay payment
$12.00 fee for each telephone-assisted HDFS Bill Pay payment"
I'll just use my bank's payment center. There is no fee for it and I can send a payment every day if I wanted to. Personally I don't like the auto payments. I like the flexibility of paying extra or more frequently if able.
I take back my original post in this thread, HDFS has an amazing rate and now I'll just use my bank to pay them without fees.
