I have a 03 Heritage Softail, 7500 miles. was running perfectly. I went for a ride today with1/3 tank of gas. I filled it "UP to TOP" 5 days ago. As I came to a stop, the engine stalled. I got it started but it sounded a little hesitant so I kept it going with some throttle and headed back without much stopping. Now it seems ok. I let it run in garage and also started a few times without any problems. I am concerned.
water in gas?, time to change spark plugs?, Stage I upgrade Mapping problems (I dont what that means)
or what. What should I do...take it now to the dealer or wait and ride again later. No warranty
How many miles did it take you to burn all that gasoline? Take your plugs out and inspect them, if they're black and sooty your injectors may be hanging, and if you are running that rich you need to see your dealer. If they are tan then your mixture is good and you may have a problem with bad gas or water in your gas.. If thats the case then drain your tank and start over.

I had a 79 triumph that did that on me. The Gas cap vapor locked on me and stalled the bike every couple of blocks. I cleaned the vent hole and it worked fine.
Can a dying battery do that. When I put on battery tender it is taking for ever to charge it. It never used to be like that. Tell me this, if you have a engine runningand then you disconnect the battery, will the engine stall?
