RE: Ridin without face protection!
I don't have a windshield with my Sporty and I weara 3/4 with adark shield if I'm doing distance on the interstate. The shorty I use around town almost tears my head off at 70+...

RE: Ridin without face protection!
I just started wearing a 3/4 with face shield this season. I probably won't go back to the half helmet

Better aerodynamics (i.e. head doesnt' become a sail) - Pro
Less wind noise (i.e. won't need to wear plugs on long rides) - Pro
No more bugs and sand in my face - Pro
Still get plenty of wind - smell the smells, etc. - Pro
Dont fit in with what most "bikers" think is cool (i.e. I couldn't care less whatothers think) -Pro

Too many checks in the pro column

RE: Ridin without face protection!
I absolutely love my short Memphis shade.
It comes off quickly and is priceless in the Spring and Fall.
I've had the same one on my 2000 FXDX sincethe bike was new and the shade is still in perfect condition.
The nice thing about the short version is the protection it provides without you feeling like you're in a fish tank.
Riding here in the mountains it allows me to hear a lot better too since it breaks the wind...Perfect shade.

Yer s'posed to swaller at least some of the pebbles for some roughage. Helps move things along after sittin' on the bike seat on a long haul. Constipation is a bad thing when ya gotta pass a turd the size of the General Sherman tree! [8D]
