I love the way novelty helmets fit and how the wind doesn't blow my head around however they aren't usely made with the best clips or material for that matter. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a good dot that doesn't give me a mushroom head or a well made novely. Thanks
Let me check with the 28 year old that wiped out his Harley on I664, hit head first on the center wall, and is now in a coma. He had some sort of novelty helmet......

Can't say. I work in the ED, and the majority of riders that come through with their noggins intact were wearing DOT helmets. I've been down twice, once with a just barely DOT helmet, which was crushed on one side. The other time I was in a modular and the side hit the guardrail.
I bought my first full face helmet last month cause I was riding to key west. I usually only ride in states that don't have helmet laws. I really liked the full face, especially the day it rained all day. It was real comfy and didn't have to fight the wind at all. I will be wearing the helmet from now on when riding all day. I've been riding since the seventy's. So folks are slow learners It is a Bell Star helmet.
