No. I'm not putting a car seat on a bike. Anyone out there though with kids/grandkids at what age did you start letting them ride with you?
I have two boys ages 5 and 7 there a little young yet to be on the back of the bike, but I'm looking forward to it someday.
I've been on a bike in some shape or form since I was 8 years old (46 now). A lot of that was riding with my father, either behind him or in front of him by the tank. The laws have changed a lot since then, so a lot of what we were able to do then would probably get us arrested now. I wouldn't put a kid on my bike until they were able to reach the pegs.
Many states have rules that riders must be able to sit in the seat and reach the rider pegs. More about size than age in most cases that I have seen.
That's the case here, plus a helmet. There is no age requirement.
Couple that with a minimum level of maturity and understanding enough to stay planted, and I'd be good with taking a young passenger.
My stepson is about 6 months away from making his mother a grandmother. Eventually, I'll bet I'll be looking at "when" I can have the opportunity to bring them along. Also, that's the criteria I've laid out for a buddy of mine (non-riding) whose son wants to go for a ride with me someday.
YES PLEASE DO IT! Just strap it on your ride and drive around some warm weekend. I would pay good money to be around when the Nanny Moms get sight of it. Guarantee they will vapor lock.
At my age I'm getting reluctant to carry passengers, especially little fragile ones. But the grandson really liked the little short rides he's had around the yard and in a cul de sac, so I tried this... and he loves it. Just back roads, though, don't play in traffic with him.

My daughter was riding with me from about 6 and this was during my chopper days , one of her " uncles " taught her to flip the bird so any nanny types who dared say anything got a second shock to the system. Kid loved it more than I did.
