I'm not sure where to post this, but, I feel its very important to spread the word. I would want someone to do this for me or someone I cared about. I got this from FB.

"Motorcyclist Keith Riddiough

Phone Home your family and friends are very worried!

I need your help folks ! have a Canadian friend travelling on his motorcycle in Mexico. last heard from Jan 24 ! we are now VERY worried to say the least. this is totally out of character for this 60yr old man. he is alone, does not speak spanish well, and when last heard from was in Puerto Angel, about 200km south of Acapulco. his plan was to head toward Puerto Vallarta where he would meet up with friends. that was 12 days ago. his phone is turned off, and he has not been in his back account.
what suggestions do you all have ? any would be appreciated… if you are in that area along Mex hwy 175 or 200 can you give me an idea of any ‘unrest’ in the area? thanks kindly

I'd organize an informal search party of two or three friends/relatives and fly down to Puerto Vallarta. Rent a car and back track his direction of travel. Get out and walk where sides of the road are not visible. Good luck, prayers and positive thoughts that he will be found safe.
If you have the funds, charter a helicopter and fly his route at low altitude.
I am guessing the Mexican police have been notified.

Doesn't sound like a very good situation for the rider. Seems as if he were ok, he would have phoned in by now to at least touch base?

Hopefully it turns out alright.

I'd say this is very possibly a life or death problem here. Life being the slimmer option upflying has it right. They need to get help, fly down and look. There may never be a clear answer if it is truly a bad outcome, but it's the best they can do. Hoping for the best for him and his family.

Not an area to be around. Lots of issues with drug gangs, murders and crooked cops. Hope it works out

I'm sorry to hear this. I hope he gets found, and is OK.

Why anyone would go down to that 3rd world crap hole though is beyond me. Its basically a war zone!

Please go to ADVRider.com and post this asap.

That is the forum that caters to riders doing this. They will have riders checking in from riding in and through Mexico.
Contact a moderator and see if they can post a sticky at the top of the Ride Reports forum.

You might also check his home computer and see if this gentleman frequents ADVRider. And if he did, what screen name he used (increases the chances someone knows him). If he researched the ride much at all, he probably signed onto the site at some point.
