Another one bites the dust!
Maybe there is something to learn here, for us and for you. Would you please give us some more details about the accident? When you say that the driver cut you off do you mean that he/she turned in front of you?
Please give as detailed a description as you can. For example: Did you hit the brakes? Lay it down? How far were you from the car? ect....
Yes, they left their info and mentioned to me when I asked him to help me off with my helmet "ok, hold on, I have the exact same helmet" so he rides as well.
Love the camaraderie amongst fellow riders. Thank you.

Sure, I was in the HOV lane (splitting lanes actually/ legal in CA). Driver and all other drivers were not going near as fast (lesson to be learned here). I'll now only travel slightly faster than the traffic around me.
My better judgment went out the windows cause I was running late for work too.
Anyway, the car proceeded to try and come into the HOV lanes crossing over the double stripped yellow lines, but in the process came to a dead stop right in front of me. I remember seeing their signal light (which I said in my head "oh ****, don't do it!"), but they did immediately after they signaled. I had no time to think but to brake hard and I was locked up and slightly angled to the car I'd say about 45 degrees to the car. If I had a second or two I would have glanced over my left shoulder for traffic and attempted a hard swaying turn around the car but I did not.
[Lessoned learned]For now on, I'll only lane split while slightly traveling faster than the other traffic to give myself more time. But in the end, we can't control what other drivers will do, so it's a risk no matter what.
Yep sure did. Kinda hoping they can total it out. The dealer already told me if they can get close to totaling it out they will if I tell them to do so.
Be nice to get out of that and into something else.
Not sure how the other things put on my loan will work though. Gap coverage, Dept protection, and so forth. Wonder if I'll have to keep paying on that?

I hope (although it may not help you) they catch the POS that hit and left you without stopping to even check your condition.
As someone who has been involved in "several" accidents in my lifetime I can tell you that there are many reasons (as has already been mentioned) why people don't stop at accidents, one of which is personal safety.
It is not uncommon for first responders (even with emergency vehicles with flashing lights) to get hit and/or killed while performing rescue assistance to accident victims.
I've personally witnessed secondary, chain reaction accidents, especially in bad weather, so IF you decide to stop and render assistance to someone, it's a darn good idea to remain in your vehicle until you're absolutely sure that traffic near you has either fully stopped or has at least slowed to a cautionary speed.
