Tony Lama Black Pitstops. Great boot, really comfortable, rubber heel and sole, great insole system, heavy duty black leather. Comes up to about the bottom of your calf, no worry about exhaust burns. Great boot.

HD boots only lasted two years... total crap

I have a pair of 11" Wesco boots now going on four years and they will go another year before they have to be resoled. Custom built best boot I've ever owned and worth every penny...

I've been wearing Georgia Boot Loggers for 6-7 years and got a pair of Bates Engineer boots last week. Both are comfortable.

Personally, I try to buy my stuff from people that make mainly only what I'm buying - and not much else. I'd rather go for a technical product that is focussed on a particular application rather than a brand that just pumps out crap.

So - bike from HD, but none of their "lifestyle" ****.
Boots from TCX
Jackets/gloves from Alpinestars
Bike jeans from Hood/Bike leather pants from Alpinestars
Heated clothing from Gerbing
Helmet from Schuberth

I do find it funny how some people want to knock boots (and other products) with the HD name on them...
I guess these people don't realize that HD is not actually making these boots. There is not a second assembly line right next to the Dynas where they are putting together these boots...it is in fact a BOOT company making these.

Heated clothing from Gerbing
Is that the same Gerbing that makes knives?

Well...because almost everyone in the entire world obviously knows HD isn't making all the lifestyle crap. It's almost entirely outsourced.

So why wouldn't you just buy it from that company in the first place? At least their non branded version. And avoid the HD markup?

If it's good enough to spend the money on, then why worry about the HD brand?

If it's not good enough, then why would you pay for it even if it had the HD brand?

I don't see the need to advertise for the company that made my motorcycle any more than riding the bike itself already does. And I really don't define my life by it or want the logo plastered all over me (unless they start paying me loads of money).

My choice as well, I really like the soles on these- nice and grippy. Plus they give me just enough reach to avoid having to lower the seat or let enough air out of the tires so I can flat foot.

Redwings are my favorites (link below). Leather is solid enough that I get them resoled.
