Interesting, thanks for the link. This will hopefully bring the cost of HD's more in-line with prices in the US.
We will still pay more than our US cousins for new and used bikes, also for parts. Take a look at the price of a new car or truck, or just about any other product. We pay way more in Canada for the same products sold in the US. Supply and demand.
A few unanswered questions here; of course everyone pee's themselves at the though of saving a shekel, but:
1: What will it be like getting parts direct from HD USA for our dealers; will there be a minimum order (squeezes out the little guys) and how long will it take to get across the border to us up here? I know some parts I order from US sure take time...
2: What about training for HD mechanics? Deeley has an excellent centre with top notch instructors; now gonna be third-party on-line matchbook school of correspondence to save a buck for the individual dealers?
3: Who'll co-ordinate the road-test tour or will it be scrapped? Can't bring the Yankee fleet up here to test...
Business is business and in the end the dollar always rules

Deeley isn't going away. They'll just be working, I assume, under the same type of relationship as dealers in the US.
Wonder how it will affect the people who work for those HD dealerships in Canada.
A bunch of them in Toronto were given their 3 month notice. I think Harley will put a distribution center up here in Canada and ship from there to the dealers. If the prices come down a bit to be more reasonable more people will buy from the dealers here instead of going online to American dealers ( but who knows for sure ).
