Can anyone comment first hand re: tech training in US? Is there any dedicated training or is it third party/voc school? Just curious; will probably be the model we'll end up with here in Canada...although Deeley has a centre they built already.

I'm not sure whether it's good, Deeley is the second HD dealer in the world. We do pay a lot more than buying one in states. Good luck!

Yes it is a good idea. Deeley's is the second or third oldest HD dealer in the world, even loaning the MoCo money back in the 30's when times were hard. But just because they've a special relationship the time has come for them to stop screwing Canadians. They've had their 'cartel' like monopoly for the past hundred years or so, but all its done recently is allowed them to manipulate and gouge the marketplace. I'm looking forward to a more level playing field.

And HD will step right in behind you to pick up where TD left off and sell you syn 3 lube to easy to going. Point being is I doubt very much if HD taking over will change prices anywhere but up.

Astute observation bombay !

HD's US site lists a RK at USD$ 18,449.00 which converts, at todays rates, to $CDN 23,081.00. The Canadian HD site "Deeley" lists the RK at $CDN 22,599.00. So, who is eating the $482.00,,,, plu$ handling the import bull$hit? My bet is that it isn't HD now, and they're not busting the Deeley arrangement just so they can pick up the tab. I'm gonna go way out on a limb here and suggest that in the the post 2017 arrangement, there'll be more, (not less), money in it for HD.

Now, I'm pretty sure this doesn't sum up the entire US/Cda picture and there may well be a price benefit to Cdn customers at the end of the day. I'm just not ready to slap on mt party hat and start tooting my kazoo on the (probably erroneous) assumption that Deeley is simply a scalper.

^This. Especially if the Canadian dollar continues to suck. As it stands now, if you factor in the exchange rate, bikes in Canada are actually CHEAPER than in the States.

Example: 2015 Street Glide Special, MSRP $27,999 CAD X .80 = $22,400 USD. MSRP for the same bike in the States is $22,899 USD.

As I posted in the touring section I`m not ready to jump for joy quite yet.I doubt HD is going to be leaving any money on the table for the Can. consumer.I think it will all go into their own pockets. No matter what it`s still a business to make money
