This evening I took my youngest daughter (she's 23) for her first ride on my Softail (only the 3nd time she has ever been on a bike). Although a little cool this evening she had a blast. We rode around, stopped at Hooters for some food and a cold one, then back to my house. You could see it in her eyes, she was going home and bug her boyfriend to get off his butt and get a bike...LOL
My daughter is 11. She is as excited about my new Fatty as much as I am. She is so proud when I pick her up at school. Love your pipes. They will be on mine next week!!
I take my 9 year old on little rides around our house, she wants me to pick her up at school so bad. Theres a car rider lineup and shes with all her friends and wants them all to see her dad ride up and get her on this loud beast. I'm thinking of getting there an hour early one day to do it..line starts forming so early and I don't feel like moving up 4 feet at a time for 20 mins amid all the suvs and minivans.
I had my granddaughter who was pregnent at the time ride on the back of mine. She was so scared that I dared not leave the block. Once she got comfortable she finally let go of my waist and really enjoyed the ride.. A week later she delievered a baby girl... Was it the ride or the pipes?? Who knows but she enjoyed it...
I cant wait to take my son on his first ride, its going to be a blast. Its not going to be for a while though my wife is due on 9 July 07, this will be our first.
Before my Roadster got slolen, my 11 year old, now, was scared of it. I had 2 inch drag pipes and it a little was loud. When I got my Softail last month, he loved it. He drives me crazy now about going for a ride. My oldest son was so comfortable riding, he fell asleep one time. Scared the crap out of me. He started falling off. Didn't take hime riding for awhile after that.
That is great that your daughter got that look in her eyes, hopefully she WILL bug her boyfriend to get a bike. I weened my daughter on a quad when she was3 years old, ended up getting her a kids quad that she rode for a few years. Sold the quads a couple years ago and now she looks forward to going for rides on the Road King. Lately she has been bugging me to get her a dirt bike so she can learn to ride on 2 wheels. She is 10 years old now and Ifigure that when I find a good deal, I'll have to get her one. I expect that she will ride street bikes when she gets older since she has been around motorcycles from an early age.
My boys 3 & 5 love my Night Train - they beg me to let them sit on it and ride it - what's a good age to take 'em for the first ride? I can't wait for them to ride w/me, but they couldn't hold on yet. They love their Harley Big Wheels though! Any guidelines for when to let them on as passengers?
