Advertising that has fancy graphics, etc. would be my guess. You oughtta try it with my connection; I do good to get 26k. No high speed anything available out here in the boonies.

I have Comcast Cable and I got no complaints about speed. Could be the number of people on the site at one time, the speed of the host server, something or someone hogging up bandwidth, could be allot of things.

Pictures take up a lot of bandwidth and we are a pic happy bunch here. This is one reason I have a pic of my ride in my public profile and not in my sig. If somebody wants to see it they just click on my name. If you have already seen it, you know what it looks like and I don't need to rub anybody's nose in it.
Most browsers have an option to turn off pictures to speed things up; then you can load the pics later if you want to see them.

I don't know how accurate this is, but I have been told by various people that the more people that are using a particular site, the slower that it becomes. I wonder if it possible that we are growing faster than this site can keep up with?
