I have been using these for years, no problems, had a 55 MPH get off when I hit a deer, ruined a good Arai helmet, the quick disconnect held good..and trust me it took a good pounding, ground the left side down, rocks and gravel embedded in the back and deep gouges across the front top and bottom..So I say go for it. I bought a new helment and first thing i did was install another quick disconnect.
I've used that kind for years on both touring bikes and sport bikes. It has a solid metal to metal interface. Trust me, if that breaks loose in a crash you've had it anyway. I had some of the cheaper plastic ones on a few helmets, and they also seem to hold pretty well, but I prefer the kind your looking at there.
When I got my wife her first helmet(and only so far) she insisted on the quick release since she hated trying to get the D ring to work. I prefer the D ring and it only takes a few seconds.

I have tested the limits of a bell helmet on concrete at 45mph+ and can tell you the strap needs to hold on........D-rings for me only because when you are sliding on your head.....you want the helmet to stay on....same goes for jackets...leather takes a lot of abuse that skin don't....but this is all JMHO.......
