Default "Quick-release" helmets.....................

After many years of strapping a helmet on the old fashioned way, I was thinking about getting one of the quick release attachments. Do any of you use them? How do you like it?

Does anyone have any reservations about using one?

Thanks,

Denim

Quick release attachments are useful if you take your helmet on and of many times a day, but I don't find them necessary otherwise. I also have heard that the ones made out of plastic will not hold up should you be in an accident.

We use em, and love em. Sure, it's plastic, but I don't see the helmet helping that much anyway. Just my .02.

Do they make them other than plastic?

Hey, I just found these made of tempered steel. They look pretty safe and reasonable. What do you think?

I been using one for years and like it. I had one break after using it for about 3 years so, I think the plastic holds up pretty well. Mine broke at hiway speed but the batwing / windshield kept the helment on my melon head. I rode 30 years with the d-ring and gave the qick connect a try and liked it. No one can tell you ... "Hey man you will love this" and you be throughly convinced. Buy yourself one and try it if you don't like it throw it in the garbage. Its only a few $.
