I did the fuel door mount. Works great for me. Just a little below the line-of-sight of the gauges.
Only thing is, I wanted to cable from my phone/gps to the radio, (Kenwood, USB), to charge the phone, give a little better sound quality, and use the hand controls. Didn't want the cable draped over the tank so I used a dremel and slotted the fuel door, (sacrificial lamb), to run the cable under the tank and up through the fairing and out the handelbar grommet. I can always reinstall the original fuel door.
i got the harley one that mounts on the handlebar. its universal so you can mount pretty much any phone or gps. it seems to work well. onlu guages it blocks is the useless temp. gage...
I just snagged the Kuryakan that mounta to the handlebar, Tech Mount, IIRC. it's the only one big enough for the 6 plus and waterproof case that I found. Seems to work well.
