The only experience I have is with my SERT. A close friend mine had a Power Commander and now he has a SERT. In the future, for every Haley he buys from here forward, he will only install a SERT. Yes, you have to spend extra money to put in on the dyno, but it's worth it.
I'm definitely going to get a dyno tune though and I was wondering if its best to ask the tuner his preference,
That's a really good bet.
To be honest the whole "Best Tuner" thing is done here ad nausia.
Bottom line is a good Dyno guy can work with several different tuners successfully but he's going to have a prefered model.
Fuelmoto is the go to guy's for purchase, their service is outstanding!
Trying to save $50 someplace ain't worth it when it comes to folks that stand behind what they do.
I have the FP3 and for the price and simplicity it can't be beaten. But if you know that you're going on the Dyno, most will tune with PV or the others (but you should ask his preference). An operator can tune with the FP3 but most don't know how yet, or aren't willing because it will take longer than the setup they have. I had my bike tuned with it, well worth a professional eye IMO even with auto tuning opportunities.
I bought my AC, exhaust and tuner all through Fuel Moto and everything these guys have said is true. Great service! All I did was install then ride, presetting from Fuel Moto was perfect!
power vision... order from fuelmoto...great support
This. The PV2 rules and Fuel Moto is the place to get your stuff from. I got my V&H Big Shots and PV2 from them. They have a nice package deal on the PV2.
I just done stage 1 on my electra glide ultra limited and used the power vision. I ran several auto tunes and my bike is really running good. it seems to me to be a lot of money to spend on power vision and turn around and spend another 500 for a dino tune. I would have probably went with something cheaper if I was going to spend money on a dino tune.
