yeah, its odd, but when i go up to people and ask them if they want to sacrifice a goat to Baal with me to insure safe passage of our motorcycles to the afterlife, i get strange looks too.

They are the CMA's Christian Motorcyclists Association. They are good people out for a good cause.. If you have a bell hanging then what the heck why not..

I was the first bike blessed here one year andI still crashed...so i'm back to the old stand by - having a gypsy pee on my bike...

Humm, I said a prayer for safety and happiness for me, any passengers with me and that nothing that I needed would fall off. Also said a prayer for my Dad that he would be safe always and have many great miles. I'm pretty private about my relationship with God so I would probably not have taken these fellows up on thier offer. Its a very personal thing to me, and I know what MY beliefs are, not thiers.

At least they didn't walk up and try to rob you or something. My guess is that if someone wanting to pray over your bike is the worst thing that happened to you, you had a pretty good day. And, when you said no, they moved on. What's the big deal?

The CMA'ers were in Sturgis last year doing that at the Free Bike Wash. They'd wash the bikes and pray for the bike and the rider before they were done. I thought it was kinda nice of them to do that. Not sure I'd call them strange.

First, i personally appreciate the fact that they asked you. That indicated that they didn't just assume or force something on you that you didn't want. Second, I would not have minded if they asked a blessing on my bike. They were not actually blessing it, just asking for a blessing for it and me. As others have said, I need all I can get. I'd rather have them asking to say a blessing fo rit than to be sitting on it or bouncing their yard apes on it !
