I just got back from Texas last night. Friday night was pretty packed on 6th street in Austin. I also hit the Austin dealership on the way to San Antonio on Saturday, and it was really busy (I think it was a poker run card point). There was actually two Austin PD officers assigned to the dealership, and they were hanging out inside. Seemed like a huge rally base on the numbers of bikes I saw around the area, and on 6th street.
In 1994 I had the priviledge/pain-in-the-*** to be one of the five guys who started the ROT Rally. Jerry Bragg (Head Honcho now), Roger Wrenn (then Harley-Davidson Regional Manager), Charles Hatcher (VP Interstate Batteries) and Jim Henry (IT Guy Supreme) are the ones who really deserve credit. I located and contracted the event site, entertainment, food & beverage, artwork and accommodations. All the easy work. Always makes me smile to hear about folks having a good time. Keep coming back. It will only get better.
