just was wondering what everyone is using to clean their rear wheels i have tried harley cleaner and turtle wax cleaner and i am not happy with the out come i hate brake dust
I use Ada's products, so their all purpose cleaner and/or car wash soap with a long soft bristle brush or a wool wash mitt. Works well for me and I get a lot of gravel dust on my wheels going to and from work. The wash mitt doesn't miss any spots, and takes minimal effort just hit them last after washing the rest of the bike.

First What kind of wheels is it. different wheels require different things. Is it a solid wheel or spoke. Is it custom? Is it chrome ? is it painted, powder coated?. Is aluminum, or steel. To just say use this or I use that. Is not the best idea. My rims are a polished aluminum I'm not going to use a stainless steal polish. My rims scratch easy I don't use a brush. I use application pads,Soft towels, microfiber. On chrome I like to use wadding polish

Soft, soapy mit and a motorcycle jack to raise the rear wheel. You got to spin the rear wheel to clean it properly. Wheel cleaning sprays won't cut it and could corrode aluminum wheels.
Try a can of Nevr-Dull from Advance Auto. Couldn't believe how easily I cleaned mine, but it was a chrome Enforcer front wheel. I have stretched bags, and never changed the rear.
What are you using on your front wheel? The same product should work fine on your rear wheel. If that much brake dust is causing a problem, you either need to change the type of brake pads you're using or clean the wheel more often.
I use S100 wheel cleaner on my chrome, laced wheels. I follow this with Windex and then a good chrome cleaner.
I clean my rear wheel every time I put on a new tire. After the new tire is mounted I put the whole thing in a Rockwell jaw horse so I don't have to stay humped over the bike on the floor for a couple of hours. Next I get a white shoelace and dip it in a comet/water solution then wrap the shoelace around each spoke and work it back and forth until it's shined up.
To protect the spoke and wheel after cleaning, I apply REJEX afterwards per the directions on the bottle. Makes it real easy to clean the spokes with just water inbetween tire changes.
