So when I get to Sturgis I'm sure to go to Spearfish and then to Devils Tower. I checked Mapquest and it shows me the route 14 to get to Devils Tower and this takes me down below Black Hill Nat Park.
What I was wondering is if there might be a nice scenic road going through the Park to see some of it.
Best route is to go North from Spearfish to Belle Fourche then take 34 West. Good road and it'll take you thru Hulett and Alladin right to Devils Tower. You might not be aware that Hulett hosts The Ham & Jam on Wednesday of rally week and it gets crowded, and a bit wild there. Enjoy the rally. Personally the wife and I are gonna get out of town that week as it gets too crowded for our tastes.

Be sure to stop in at the Aladdin store at least for a few minutes, it's like going back in time.
We do this ride every year I swear by it
Go hwy 34 to Belle Fourche and go just a little north of town and take 212 going west in about 50 miles you will be in Alzada MT and there is a old historic bar the Stoneville Saloon.
Gas up there and get on Hwy 326 heading south and it is great ride through some ranch country that brings you into the west side of Hulett and just a short ride to Devils Tower. 326 will turn into 112 when you cross the state line.
Then on you way back you ride all of 34 and no doubling up on you roads
85 north out of Spearfish to 34 west at Belle Fourche. On the way is Stone House saloon, and right before Aladdin is a old mine tipple that's worth a look. Aladdin General store like others have said, and the ride from Aladdin to Hulett is very nice. Devils Tower is a few miles past Hulett, and as mentioned, Hulett is nuts on Wednesday.

On the way back, take the road to Sundance WY. Fun town during the Rally also. Devils tower is fairly amazing. Set aside some time to go into the park and look around the visitor center etc.
