I have a 2012 Ultra Classic, and want to install a security system, yes it didn't come with one. What is the difference between a system PNs 68200-07, 41000087A, 41000021, 41000087 and all the others on the instructions? Have a hard time forking out over 300 bills for the new system.
My 2011 FXDC came with a security system - maybe yours doesn't? I'd check with the dealer first . . . Without the stuff below, mine would disable if I played with to much w/out the FOB. Does yours have a FOB?
The "Smart Siren 2". It has both a battery backup and a transmitter to send you an alert. The pager for receiving those alerts that I bought is http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...er-receiver-ii This one is rechargeable, the other one (a bit cheaper) is battery powered. It doesn't have a huge range, but its good for restaurants and motels. The rated distance is 1/2 mile. But probably only line of sight? Not sure. They're both very easy to install and configure. If you don't care about having pager and battery backup of the siren, then there are instructions here on site on how to install a Radio Shack siren on a Harley. Its a lot cheaper solution.

I had a siren on my last bike and that provided a sense of security because if someone moved it or sat it upright, it'd go off. My current doesn't have a siren and I think about it more, since if someone messes with it, I'll never know it.
But in the end, if a group of guys wants your bike, they'll get it. It takes seconds for them to pick it up and toss it into a truck with mattresses in the bed. That's what the dealership told me happened to them.

That's true, and not the reason I just had a security system installed in my new bike. I only wanted it for the convenience of not having to manually lock it up at stops and vice versa.
I have a 2014 Electra Glide Ultra Clasic Limited. It came with the security system, minus the smart siren 2. So I bought and installed it myself but all I get from it is a chirp a few seconds after turning off the ignition. The lights will flash but no siren. Any input would be welcome.

Mine came with the security system and I added the smart siren II. It will chirp when you shut off the ignition to let you know that the alarm has been activated. If you try messing around with the bike without the FOB present it will first give warning chirps before it starts the full on screaming which is really loud.
