Default 2015 Iron 883 out the door price

Hey everyone,
I am looking to buy a brand new 2015 iron 883. I am told the price you see on the website is different than the final out the door price, after all the fees, taxes, and registration. I plan on walking into the dealership with $10,000 cash, as in one hundred $100 bills. Is there anyway I could haggle with the dealer? I do not want to spend more that 10k for this bike.

Thanks!

I don't know about the Iron price, but cash is not king for dealers like you think it would be. They get kickbacks from the financing and seem more willing to deal if you use their Financing. IMO let them finance you and pay off the loan in full the first week. Or if your credit is good, get the 0% APR now and invest your 10K (I'm not smart enough to do that...see below).

I recently did the same on my SGS, came in with cash in my backpack and I actually think it hurt my negotiation a little. Plus I was a nervous wreck with all that cash on me.

Good luck to you and welcome to the forum.

So do you think I could walk out with the bike for less than $10,000?

the previous guys are right. dealers get a percent of the financing. so finance and pay off right away. there is no pre payment penalty. good luck. don't know about the price.

oh first make sure you have a very good credit rating

Depends on the dealer, but $10K OTD is pushing it. Tax, Title, License on top of MSRP and maybe you're there or close. You just have to watch out w/ freight and setup fees on a new bike which can quickly eclipse $1,000 in additional cost. Every dealer is different. Tell them flat out you want to spend $10K and not a penny more out the door and see what they say. As others have posted, you are in a better position with financing but be careful with how you approach it. They'll ask you for your monthly payment amount and will present the "price" to you as a monthly cost instead of the total out the door. Make sure they break down ALL costs if you finance and before they usher you off to sign paperwork. Worst case, they say no to your $10K offer and you go elsewhere. Good luck!

What I did was go in and talk to them then I got approved for financing and had my deal all worked up and at the last moment I said well let me go to my bank and see what rate I can get so I went and grab the cash then went back and paid cash for it. They weren't to happy but o well.

Go to the HD website and get the MSRP for your options. The base iron starts at like 8400 or around. Color is extra. Abs is extra.. Tax, title, reg, admin, dealer, freight fees can easily hit 2k. 10k otd sounds decent enough, but also ask for 1k service and a gift card for a helmet and gloves etc.

Good luck.
