RE: WTF Is up withe the extra 1K tacked on Softails?
If this is true, this is a VERY short sighted decision on the part of Harley dealers. But what really sucks, is that there will be buyers at that price so the dealers are able to get away with it.
If I were in the market for a softail or bagger and was told that there was now a $1k premium, I'd tell the dealer where to stick it.
RE: WTF Is up withe the extra 1K tacked on Softails?
As I have no desire or spare cash to buy another bike I couldn't care less what they are charging. But I have been to the local dealers and they seem to have a lot of bikes so I don't know why they would be charging $1000 extra.
RE: WTF Is up withe the extra 1K tacked on Softails?
Any kind of National increase would have been reflected on the website.....I have my suspicions that MOCO had nothing to do with this. Easy way to find out; some of the dealers around the country have toll free numbers, call them.

KBFXLI I dont see how a Union member that refuses to allow the company to create a 2 Tier Pay sytem would make the Barganing Unit Greedy. The MOCO jacked the Prices 1K to make up for thier lost sales ( If any ) during the 3 weeks. The Milwaukee-based motorcycle maker reported net income of $192.3 million for the Quarter so dont gimme any of that union greed crap.
The UAW is allowing two and three tier pay systems all over the place. Harley will not escape that plan. I have no opinion on the unbions, but I was one for a while. The three teir pay systme IS a real problem, and it is NOT going away...not even ad HD. Maybe this time around, but not forever.
I did notice that the websites of the two dealersi nmy area no longer have any prices on their new bikes. They all say 'See dealer for pricing informaiton." Guess I got both of mine just in time.

OK, I PMd one member about doin' the ol' union bash lap dance. We went through all that when the strike was on. I'm politely asking everyone to leave it out of this thread. If you want to bash/defend, take it to PROD.
Thank you.
So I take it you are union?
I'm a moderator on this site. If you had read what I wrote you would've seen that I politely asked to take the bash/defend stuff to PROD. Whether I'm a union member or not has no bearing on the reasoning behind my request. I would've asked the same thing either way. Please refrain frompolitics on this forum. Just happens to be one of the forum rules. If you feel the need to politicize this, take it to PROD. Last warning. Heed it.
If you feel the need to ask me any questions concerning this subject, PM me.
