I would NOT believe anything that came from Dallas HD in Allen Tx. Period.

It's a local thing, they're taking advantage of the shortage of Softails and Touring models.

Was at the HD dealer in Plano, Tx this past Saturday. They had no prices on any of their bikes. Thought that was an odd thing. Any of ya'll see that at your local dealers?
The Allen dealer always does that. They mark up their rides accordingly. They wanted 3500 over list on an 06 Bob when I was browsing.

Did you try American Eagle or North Texas HD? They are owned by the same group and the only thing they usually mark up are certain CVO's. I have been to every HD store in DFW and these are the only two I would/did buy from for my ride.

I also have good luck with Red River HD up in Wichita Falls. I bought my CVO from a dealer in KY due to the fact all the local stores either did not have any or wanted $3K above MSRP.

I think what you are experiencing are perhaps a couple of dealers who are running low on these models and want to gouge those unsuspecting souls who waltz into their store. They may have sold off some excess inventory before the strike (most DFW stores had more than enough inventory before the strike), and now are left a little short as production ramps back up.

BTW, you are right down the road from me if you are in Keller. I'm in Southlake.

SilverDawg, what do you think of the new Red River store? Have they gone boutique, finally? I think they were one of the last hold-outs.

Yes the Allen Stealer blows.Prices and sales attitude. They have a built in RUB market seeing as how Plano is about two exits down. They will have no problem moving them. You are right none of thier bikes are marked.

IF that is true, then they suck. Just like those a-holes that gouge customers for generators when there is an emergency. I hope they choke on those bikes when no one buys them. Like they don't cost enough already. I'd buy a metric before I'd pay 1000.00 over msrp just because they were experiencing shortages of certain models. Butthats just me.

Yeah they tried that crap with me in Nov when I bought my fatty.
I went into the store and told em up front that I aint paying over sticker on any of there bikes.
They agreed but when we sat down to do the paper work they tried to changed the numbers to 19.9K for my fatty[sm=boosign.gif] I told em 17.1K or I walk.
We got it for 17.1K but they tried to make up for it in shipping and prep LOL that didnt work out for em either.

I am somewhat unhappy with there service though as It seems ebery time I take it in it comes back with new scratches[:@]

Ya'll bring up some great points. Ill call some dealers In Oklahoma and see if they are jacking the price up. I wasnt aware that the dealerships had an association.Since the dealers are privately owned Im guessing HD has no control over them at all. I was just amazed that all the sudden the prices shot up 1K.

Silverdawg - I bought My Sportster and My Bob form North Texas Harley. I thought they were above this kind of crap.Although they do charge $500 for freight even though HD says only $250. Im going to call Red River in the morning to see what thier prices are. If its Normal then its a DFW area dealership SCAM to get more $$.

The owner in Allen got all upset with me about a price I called him out on.He said he has to buy these bikes from other Dealers because they are so hard to get. That is why he charges what he does. Then they tried to get me by adding points to the financing.Not.
