This is much too deep a subject for this early in the morning. Before I weigh in on this, I need to finish my coffee from my HD cup, as I sit under my HD blanket in my HD pajama ensemble complete with HD socks.
There aren't any real good shops around here for riding gear, and I've bought enough garbage online that I prefer to see, touch, and feel what I'm buying. My local dealer has a good selection of pretty decent gear, so I buy it. Yeah, I pay a little more because it says HD on it. But most of it is decent gear so I really don't care. Stuff like jeans and gloves and glasses I buy wherever, but jackets and boots I get from the dealer because there's a good selection.
Now t-shirts...that's a different addiction altogher.
Go to any non-Harley dealer and you will find quality riding gear.
