Default Flashing Headlights

Does anyone have the headlights that flash from high to low to get attention to on coming or turning traffic? How much is there to install one? Likes and dislikes. Thanks!!!

There is a flash button on your SGS (among many others) by your left grip for this purpose. Hope this helps.

Pros:
-Better visibility to oncoming traffic in daytime (not legal at night)

Cons:
-Some mistake the flash as a signal that you allow them to pull out.
-Target fixation can make someone actually steer into you.
-Annoying to people in front of you (also annoying to oncoming traffic)
-Can be mistaken as an emergency vehicle. which can cause people in front of you to slow suddenly or even pull over. That could also lead to road rage because they feel tricked.

I thought about doing it on a previous bike and then researched it more and realized I didn't really want them. Also, I've seen bikes going and coming with these and they annoy me so that settled it.

If you want to be visible to oncoming traffic. I suggest a using the technique where you slightly "wiggle" to give the headlight some depth. And cover your brake at every intersection.

EDIT: also, be prepared to defend/prove the legality of them as some police may not realize they are indeed legal.

If your talking about a headlight modulator, yes I have one but it does not flash from low to high. It flashes 4x/per second and only on low beam. It also has a sensor that disables it when there is not enough daylight. It is the HD one and it was a very easy install and I am told it works well.

Never thought of those cons but being a retired LEO.....great points. Think I will use the switch on the low beam if I think I need to get some ones attention.

-Target fixation can make someone actually steer into you. Same as above

-Annoying to people in front of you (also annoying to oncoming traffic) when group riding I have turned it off. It has a on/off switch.

-Can be mistaken as an emergency vehicle. which can cause people in front of you to slow suddenly or even pull over. That could also lead to road rage because they feel tricked.. Has not happened to me yet either but I suppose it`s possible.
OP, the way I figure it, the more visibility, the better. IMO

I've seen them and they are attention getters. I wish I had it on my bike.

Maybe if I loosened the mounting bolt, it'd flop around and look like it's going bright/dim!

In ca, flashing headlights (aka the visible horn and middle finger)could provoke road rage.
