I also been hit by a bird and got a bloody nose . I will pass this along and try it next time if I can. I was watching a GP motorcycle race on TV and Bikes were probably traveling at 180mph . A Seagull flies right in front of this racer and all he did was bend his head down and bird hit top of helmet and the bird blew apart feathers every where . The racer did not miss a beat .The full face is the best way to go but you can still do what that racer did.
Not when you can't see it coming, OP was doing 75 in the dark.
Shoei Neotec. Modular with great ventilation...and they have different thicknesses of cheek pads available. They have a table that shows which thickness pads are in what sized helmet. I wear an XL and found the standard 35mm a bit too tight, so put in 31mm and major comfort difference. Call Revzilla, I think they will swap out whatever size you want when you buy it rather than having to buy additional pads.
And yes, it not only has an internal sunshade, but also a pin lock system which allows you to put an anti fog lens in the visor, which is included. Also has an installable breath guard and chin curtain that can be left in or easily removed and replaced as you wish.
Headsets are easy to install, and is one of the few helmets that the HD Boom headset actually fits like the helmet was designed for it.
you can always order a helmet from amazon and send it back if it doesn't fit. I've had to return a couple of helmets due to a fat head, always been real easy to do. good luck
