How do I remove the seat retention nut off the rear fender? The section on removing it in the service manual is too vague for it to make sense to me....Thanks in advance.
Rick
The nut actually mounts from under the fender and is held on by a small black plastic retaining clip that fits around the barrel of the nut that sticks through the fender. Pop off the clip and the nut will fall right out.
IF you need to replace the nut, it's really simple. The fender nut on my Dyna stripped out and it was as easy as fishing a piece of wire through the hole, from the top of the fender. When the end of the wire came out of the lower edge of the fender, slide the nut on, barrel first and then bend the wire over to hold it on, and pull it back through the fender. When the nut is through the fender, replace the clip, you're done.
