Default Swapping Seats with ease....Help?

Can anyone tell me where/how to get a "quick-detachable" screw that will enable me to easily swap between my 2-up and solo seat?

How do I install it?

Instead of a screw, you can get a knurled **** that you can finger tighten. It uses the stock fender nut.

I am assuming you mean the screw in the very back of the seat that holds it to the fender. I don't mind using a screw stick to put it on and off, it's the nut under the fender that worries me.

I "think" the stock solo seat has a built-into-the-fender nut, so putting that one on should be cake. The backing nut for the sundowner "I think" will just fall off after I remove the back screw...how do I get it back under the fender....?

There is a C-Clip that holds it to the fender. Fish a piece of string down thru the hole and tie the fender nut to it. Then pull the string up and Viola, the nut should be there. Then attach the clip that holds it on the fender and you should be good to go. I keep both of the fender nuts on the fender. I usually have the 2 up seat, and the one for solo seat is my spare.

HK, I am almost with ya....I have it until you talk aboutthe c-clip. How do you put any kind of a clip on the nut after it's under the fender? If you are holding it in place with the string, how do you get a clip on it? Sorry in advance if I seem too stupid to be allowed to consume oxygen.....

No problems, flynavy. It's difficult to put into words what would be very easy in person. The C-Clip goes on the top of the fender, the nut goes in from under.

It is a special nut with a c-clip/e-clip (whatever) that you install and leave in the fender, when not in use. A $5 part, the thumb screws generally cost about $15-20, but you can use a standard 25 cent philips.
I'll try to find you a p/n if somebody doeasn't beat me to it.

Is it not a typical round nut? Does part of the nut itself extend thru the hole so a clip can cinch it to the fender...is that what I am missing?

My sundowner is already on the bike.

I want to be able however to take it off and put it back on when I no longer want to use the stock solo seat.

If my buddy put the sundowner on and used a c-clip, the nut should stay in place even after I back the screw out and remove it, correct?

By the way also....after I remove the sundowner, does anyone know where I can get a rubber grommet to put back in the open hole on the fender that is used only for the 2-up mount? OR any other material or trick that will cover the hole?
